Dr Michele Rebelo graduated from Murdoch University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery. She obtained Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency and Critical Care by examination in 2005, and has been an examiner for the College.
After four years in general practice, Michele began her emergency career and has worked in 3 of the 4 emergency centres in Brisbane (including the original Animal Emergency Centre in Bowen Hills which became Animal Emergency Service), at the University of Queensland Veterinary Teaching Hospital and for Veterinary Specialist Services as veterinary manager in the Pet Intensive Care Unit, Underwood.
A family move to the Gold Coast saw her commence working with Animal Emergency Service at Carrara in 2012. Michele is passionate about patient care and clinical advances in veterinary emergency and critical care medicine. She is a senior veterinarian and is responsible for mentoring and training within the Gold Coast practice.
When not at work, she spends time with her family of a husband, 3 children and a high-needs Ragdoll named "Toulouse".
