Solange considers herself the lay person among incredible people. She didn't aspire to work with pets or animals from a young age and she wasn't any good at science at school. Her career commenced in journalism (though it pains her to admit that) with an eclectic resume to follow.
She started with Animal Emergency Service in 2009 as a receptionist in the Carrara practice. "I had no clue about the veterinary industry and especially not emergency medicine. My area of expertise was customer service so I concentrated on that while I hit the ground running." Along the way she graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Marketing and Digital Communication. She is currently enrolled in a dual Masters however there are some exciting projects in development at AES and PVE so she's happy for that goal to take a temporary hiatus.
"The best part of the job is watching owners with patients being discharged to go home. Especially those who were critical when they arrived. I've watched the AES Team help so many patients over the years and hold each other together during less successful times. I feel so lucky to be part of such a great group of people."
In her spare time Solange enjoys reading, skinny lattes, uncontrolled laughter, photography, and hanging out with family. She doesn't have any pets at the moment as she and her husband lost their 11 year old Cavoodle 'Cino' in 2015 and she's hoping to squeeze in a couple of overseas trips before committing to another furbaby.
