Dr Geoffrey Dodds
BVSc (Hons) BSc (Hons)
Dr Geoffrey Dodds has had a fascination with animals and the natural world ever since he can remember. He completed a Bachelor of Science, with a major in zoology in 2006. He then went on to complete an Honours thesis in marine parasitology, which meant several visits to the Great Barrier Reef, “working hard” in the name of science.Soon afterwards he completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at the University of Queensland before embarking on a rotating internship at a specialist veterinary practice. Here he gained experience working with specialists in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology and dentistry.Since then he has been working as an emergency clinician with the Animal Emergency Service. “The challenging hours and varied case load, along with the amazing team of receptionists, nurses and vets is what makes working for AES an absolute pleasure.”In his spare time, Geoffrey loves spending time at the beach, hiking, watching sport (all types!) as well as cleaning up the latest toy that’s been destroyed by his little Dachshund, Winston.
